Your circulatory system in likely to take you out of circulation one day. Your heart muscle, the arteries that take your blood to other parts of your body and the veins that return it to be pumped out again are likely to lead to your demise.

​This book started out to be the story of how my heart and my arteries let me down. My heart succumbed to an attack by a polio-type virus; then one of the arteries in my brain fell apart, nearly killing me with an acute stroke. Unwilling to let a funeral director have his turn at letting me down, I fought back
